San Antonio, TX — Beginning this April, the YMCA of Greater San Antonio will assume operational oversight of the Morgan’s Sports complex, marking an important milestone in a new partnership dedicated to advancing accessibility, inclusion, and community wellness.
“Together with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, we are redefining what it means to be active. This partnership marks a transformative step toward making health and wellness opportunities inclusive and equitable for every person,” said Dr. Brent Fields, CEO of Morgan’s.
“This partnership reflects the very heart of the YMCA’s mission— to ensure every person, regardless of ability, has access to spaces where they can move, belong, and thrive. By joining forces with Morgan’s, we are expanding what inclusive wellness looks like for our community today

and for generations to come,” said Louis Lopez, President & CEO of YMCA of Greater San Antonio.
To support a seamless transition, Brooke Matula, formerly the Recreation Therapy Director of Morgan’s Sports, has joined the YMCA of Greater San Antonio as the Association’s Director of Adaptive Programming as of January 5th. In this role, Brooke will assist with the transition of day-to-day operations, programs, and facility management to the YMCA. Her deep experience and leadership uniquely position her to help bridge both organizations and ensure the success of this partnership.
“This partnership strengthens what both organizations do best—creating inclusive, accessible programs where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered. We are excited for Brooke as she steps into this role and look forward to the leadership she will bring to this next chapter,” said Lopez.
Throughout the transition, all programs and services at Morgan’s Sports will continue without disruption. Day-to-day operations, programming, and the organization’s commitment to serving the community will remain unchanged.
As part of this collaboration, YMCA will open and operate the new Hartman Family YMCA, which will
become an integral component of Morgan’s Sports in early 2027. Together, these organizations will expand opportunities for individuals of all abilities to engage in sports, wellness, and their community in a fully inclusive environment.
