Sailor wishes stepmother in San Antonio a happy Mother’s Day

MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Petty Officer 1st Class Natalia Murillo, a Las Vegas, Nevada, native serving in the United States Navy, wishes their stepmother, Mary Lee Murillo, from San Antonio, Texas, a happy Mother’s Day.

Sailors help maintain America’s advantage at sea. This means they do not always get to celebrate holidays with their loved ones. Murillo wants their stepmother to know they are missed this Mother’s Day.

“Mary Lee, I appreciate you being supportive,” Murillo said. “I know you’d rather go from home or in danger’s way, but don’t worry, we get great training and look out for each other. I really appreciate you being there for me to take my calls and listening to my days, and for taking care of my dad, too. I love you and Happy Mother’s Day.”

Murillo serves as a mass communication specialist with Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Miami.

As Murillo and other sailors continue to train and perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the U.S. Navy.

“The Navy has helped me gain independence and allowed me to help my family in their time of need, too,” Murillo added.
