SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 28, 2025) – On Tuesday, October 28, the festivities for the annual Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner officially began. This year’s Dinner will take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center (900 E. Market St.). Call 211 and press option 1 for more information about home delivery registration if you can not attend the Dinner in person.
Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones launched this year’s online volunteer registration, which opened at rauljimenezdinner.com/volunteer on Tuesday, October 28, at 1 p.m. until full capacity is reached.
During the press conference, RJTD President & CEO Patricia Jimenez, Mayor Jones, and Kym Rapier Foundation’s Executive Director Yolanda Valenzuela discussed the expanded efforts for this year’s Dinner. Kym Rapier Foundation originally pledged $50,000 and doubled it on the spot for a total of $100,000 to help support the RJTD’s anticipated increased need. The Dinner typically prepares about 25,000 meals, and this year, they are preparing for over 29,000 meals.

The Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner started in 1979, when restaurant owner and businessman, Raul Jimenez, recognized the need in his community and established a Thanksgiving Day event to serve the less fortunate. The dinner serves approximately 25,000 people. More than 4,000 volunteers help make the event possible on an annual basis. Kym Rapier Foundation is the presenting sponsor of the 2025 Dinner.
